What was the assignment? The assignment was a "Pick your own project" kind of assignment. I chose to make a little NBA shooting game. My goals for this assignment was for it to be made with my best efforts. I used all the things I could find around me for a challenge. I used a plastic bottles, tape, and cardboard (shoeboxes). The turnout of the project was surprisingly good. I had a pretty good time playing around with it in the end. Why did I chose this assignment? I chose this assignment because I thought it was pretty cool that I didn't buy anything to make this project. I liked that I used more of my creativity side for this project; and I actually had some fun while making this project. Another reason why I chose this project is because I really love basketball, I have so much love for the game and making something like this was awesome. Lastly, I chose this project because, this one took a pretty good amount of time to finish the project, and I put in all my best efforts for this. What 21st century skill did I use? The 21st century skill that I used was self-directional skills. This skill means to demonstrate my ability to understand and monitor my own learning needs and to goal-set. For this project I had to be responsible and set goals for how I wanted my project to be done. I set mini timelines for when I should be done with this and that; so that way I can finish the whole project within 1-2 weeks. What challenges did I have? (Current Growth) To be honest, I didn't have too many challenges. One challenge that I had was the workspace limitation. I had to pick a place where the project was safe from my 3 dogs and a place that isn't too windy. I worked on this little table in my room. It was a pretty small table; but enough for me to get the work done. Another challenge that I had was cutting the plastic bottles, I just had to be very cautious so I don't cut myself. What can I improve? (New Growth) I only have one thing that I would do different if I were to do this project again. I would put more decorations on the cardboard. I thought that the design was kind of plain; but I had to turn it in and didn't really have the time to paint and print the NBA sign, etc. I should of added a little more details and color on the project, but other than that I liked it overall.
